Ivernia Provides Business Update

29.08.2014  |  GlobeNewswire

TORONTO, Aug. 29, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ivernia Inc.("Ivernia" or, collectively with its subsidiaries, the "Company") (TSX:IVW) today provided a business update with respect to third quarter sales of concentrate. Management now expects sales and revenues to be lower than budgeted in the third quarter as a result of a bridge closure near the Port of Fremantle which forms part of the Company's rail transport route for the sale of concentrate.

In an incident unrelated to the Company, the Fremantle rail bridge has been closed to traffic whilst repairs are completed. The bridge was damaged earlier this month when a cargo ship lost its moorings during a severe storm impacting the bridge. The bridge currently remains closed and the Company was notified today that the bridge is not expected to re-open to full freight traffic until early September.

During the bridge closure, the Company has continued with mining and milling operations on site and is currently not expecting a disruption in production. However, the bridge closure will mean that third quarter sales and revenues will be impacted and comparatively lower than second quarter results. The Company is proactively storing inventory both at site and at the Leonora terminal and managing its cash flows during this temporary rail transportation disruption. With sales orders remaining strong, management anticipates making up lost sales in the fourth quarter and meeting the 2014 annual production and sales targets.

Further updates will be provided as appropriate.
