Ardiden Ltd.: Expands Resource Drilling Program at Manitouwadge Graphite Project

08.02.2017  |  ABN Newswire
Perth - Lithium and graphite explorer Ardiden Ltd. (ASX:ADV) is pleased to advise that due to the success of the Phase 1 resource delineation diamond drilling program at its 100%-owned Manitouwadge Graphite Project in Ontario, it has decided to significantly expand the program to the east to confirm the grade and continuity of newly discovered graphite zones.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Due to the successful intersection of multiple thick zones of graphite mineralisation at the Manitouwadge Project, Ardiden is now expanding the resource delineation drilling program.

- The Phase 2 drilling program will include an additional eight drill holes to the east of the current program, targeting the possible extensions of the thick and higher grade graphite mineralisation zones.

- Graphite mineralisation remains open along strike to the west, east and at depth.

- Further drill core samples have been submitted to Actlabs in Thunder Bay with the first assay results expected in March.

The additional drilling will comprise a further eight diamond drill holes for approximately 1,100m. These drill holes have been designed to target the potential extensions of the thick and higher grade graphite mineralisation zones identified on the eastern side of the Silver Star North prospect and to ensure there will be sufficient resources to be economically viable for any potential future mining operations.

As previously reported by Ardiden, the visual results from the first 11 drill holes in the 22-hole diamond drilling program have been very encouraging, with the holes intersecting multiple layers of graphitic mineralisation of various widths.

The repeated intersection of multiple thick graphitic mineralisation zones reinforces the potential to establish a maiden JORC 2012 Mineral Resource estimate for the Manitouwadge Graphite Project.

The mineralisation intersected in the program to date has surpassed expectations and confirmed the interpreted eastern extension of the graphite mineralisation zones over a strike extent of more than 600m, as highlighted in the drill plan below (see Figure 2 in the link below).

As previously reported, the graphite mineralisation remains open along strike to the west, east, and at depth, as seen in drill-hole MW-16-06 where drilling ended in mineralisation at 120m down-hole.

Ardiden confirms that additional drill core has now been logged, cut and prepared, and the samples have been sent to Activation Laboratories in Thunder Bay for assay testing.

Ardiden expects to receive the initial assay results by March 2017 and looks forward to providing further updates as they come to hand.
