Zonte Provides Update on Colombia Activities

HALIFAX, March 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Zonte Metals Inc (TSXV: ZON) ("Zonte" or the "Company") is pleased to provide an update on ongoing initiatives related to mineral property acquisitions in Colombia.

Over the past 18 months, Zonte has continued to pursue various mineral property opportunities in Colombia. During this time, the Company has established strategic relationships at many levels, including individual title holders, associations or groups controlling titles, communities controlling strategic land packages and individuals representing unique opportunities. Through these relationships, Zonte identified and, in collaboration with strategic partners (together the "Applicants"), has made applications for three exploration licenses covering areas believed to be highly prospective. The areas were confirmed as open ground on the government's website and the Applicants' applications have been confirmed as the first received following commencement of the application process. The applications, made to the Agencia Nacional de Mineria (ANM), were followed up with the required supporting documentation and are understood to be progressing through a detailed review process. Subject to review and approval by the authorities, the titles are expected to be issued to the Applicants, however, the timing and outcome of the review process remains unknown as of this date. Upon receipt of the titles by the Applicants and subject to board and regulatory approvals, Zonte can acquire each of the mineral concessions for an agreed number of Zonte common shares.

Additionally, internal review of regional geology, published documentation and property submissions has identified multiple areas of interest and resulted in over 80 properties being visited and sampled. These internally generated areas of interest have varied from early stage regional targets to more advanced drill ready and historically drilled and/or producing projects. Negotiations have yet to result in a final agreement but the Company continues to pursue those targets of highest quality and merit and will report developments from its ongoing initiatives and discussions.

Zonte Metals Inc. is a junior explorer focused on gold and copper. In addition to Zonte's pursuit of resource opportunities and strategic relationships within Colombia, the Company is preparing to drill its bulk tonnage target Wings Point Gold Project in Newfoundland.
