Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. Commences Drilling at Lightning Strike Gold-Silver Project

22.10.2025  |  The Newswire
Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. ("Cariboo Rose" or the "Company") (TSX-V: CRB) is pleased to announce that diamond drilling has commenced at its 100%-owned Lightning Strike Gold-Silver Property, located in the Cariboo region of British Columbia, approximately 65 kilometres northeast of the community of 100 Mile House.

Gold and gold-silver mineralization at Lightning Strike occurs within black phyllites of Upper Triassic age (shale). Significant drill intercepts reported to date include:

  • 0.77 g/t gold over 54.0 metres

  • 3.42 g/t gold and 228.1 g/t silver over 5.0 metres

  • 2.88 g/t gold over 24.0 metres

  • 8.84 g/t gold over 7.5 metres

Historical work at Lightning Strike was first conducted by Homestake Mining Corp. in 1986, and later by Skygold Resources Ltd. (now Spanish Mountain Gold Corp.) between 2008 and 2010. These programs outlined a broad zone of gold and silver mineralization within the western portion of the current Lightning Strike claim block.

The association of silver with gold in shale-hosted mineralization is unusual; however, individual drill samples from recent Cariboo Rose drilling have returned up to 72.8 g/t silver, while earlier Spanish Mountain Gold drilling reported values as high as 705.0 g/t silver. In addition to being an important accessory product, silver serves as a valuable pathfinder element, providing a vector toward higher-grade gold mineralization.

Shale-hosted gold deposits represent one of the most attractive models for large-scale gold systems globally, with world-class analogues including the Muruntau and Sukhoi Log deposits in Russia.

In January 2025, Cariboo Rose successfully negotiated an option to acquire a 100% interest in a contiguous group of claims encompassing the original Homestake discovery area and several well-mineralized drill intercepts (see Cariboo Rose news release dated February 6, 2025). The Lightning Strike Project now covers 4,193 hectares in total.

Cariboo Rose currently holds seven mineral projects in British Columbia, including Lightning Strike.
